Nature provides us with two blueprints: predator and prey. In human terms, we can describe them as master and slave. Some people are masters – the ones in power – while other people are slaves. Slaves do all the work, while the masters reap the rewards.
But human history shows us that we have created a third designation: the PET. While slaves are unwillingly subjugated to masters, pets are those who submit of their own free will. Pets, then, are naturally slaves but are so delighted by their role that they become slaves for life. They love being a pet so much, they refuse to give it up, and in some cases they will defend their master with all the aggression they possess, just to ensure they remain as the pet of the master.
Think of a pet dog. Dogs love being pets because they get guaranteed food and shelter and love and warmth. Of course, they surrender their freedom by doing so, but that doesn’t matter a jot to a dog. A dog has no concept of freedom. All that matters is its love and loyalty to the master.
So it is with Trump’s MAGA followers. They’re the pets, the willing slaves to the master. They give up liberty in exchange for safety and comfort. The master – Trump – is their savior, their liberator. Like dogs, they have no true concept of freedom. It doesn’t exist for them, and they are content to be the pets of Trump, a life of slavery, for they are the happiest slaves imaginable. They take to Twitter to mindlessly defend their owner, no matter how ludicrous and harmful the things he says.
The masters tend to prefer pets to slaves. Whereas slaves are highly aware of their condition and require constant policing, pets will willingly police themselves, and are highly unlikely to rebel against the master. MAGA will never, ever revolt. It is entirely compliant. It exists purely to give pleasure and enjoyment to the master, and to get all the benefits a master has to offer in return.

What’s wrong with people? Instead of despising billionaires for their lavish homes and lifestyles, they cheer them on as they make money off ordinary workers and do comparatively no work. The greediest and most exploitative are always rewarded the most, which is how you get a society full of the greediest, most exploitative people.
